Kate Best earned her Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University in New York City. Since then, she has supported adults through a wide range of mental health, relationship, and substance use concerns in both New York and Toronto. She has worked in several outpatient treatment settings and has been in private practice in Toronto since 2014.
Kate’s approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. She draws from several evidence-based forms of psychotherapy, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She works with each individual to understand what feels difficult, clarify what they hope to change, and develop meaningful, achievable goals. By tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs, Kate meets clients where they are and supports them as they move toward growth and lasting change.
